SmileyPR Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Hi everyone! Our school will be doing a Roald Dahl special day in February and I would greatly appreciate which of his short stories would you recommend for a class with 2 to 3 / 4 year olds and another with 4 to 5 year olds. I would prefer the least scary ones. Thanks in advance!?
FSFRebecca Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 I'd go for 'The Giraffe the Pelly and Me' or 'The Enormous Crocodile' 1
Cait Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Mr Magnolia - it's Quentin Blake, the Roald Dahl artist, but it's a good discussion starter for Dahl. 1
SmileyPR Posted December 7, 2016 Author Posted December 7, 2016 Thank you, ladies! :1b How long do you think it will take to read "The Giraffe the Pelly and Me"? Would I have to divide it into several days as to not loose the children's attention? I saw a video via YouTube and it seems a long book for Reception children, especially as it would not have illustrations on each page as "Mr Magnolia" (nice, funny one, by the way  ). Sweet dreams! SaveSave 1

SmileyPR Posted February 26, 2017 Author Posted February 26, 2017 Update: We did both "Mr Magnolia" (Nursery & Reception) and the "Enormous Crocodile" (Reception) and they lived them! My class learned how to draw a crocodile as well and they were very proud of their results. Thanks ladies!???
