Anyone else awaiting 30 hours capital funding decision?

We made an application to the DfE for capital funds back in August and the decision is iminante, just wondered if anyone else is awaiting a decision?

Decision is to be made in December - didn't say start or end of December though arhhhh! Slightly impatient? Me no not at all ..... times dragging

I've been working on the assumption that "by December" means sometime in November, only 11 days left!! Our LA that submitted the application said they haven't heard anything at all but glad to hear it's not just us who's still in the dark! Good luck to everyone that has applied.

Was there the ability to Apple directly to the DfE? We only completed an Expression of Interest via our local authority earlier in the year but have heard nothing since.

application had to be made through LA. There was a extremely short time frame in June/July

Hi Magicstar, as Littlesparkle says the LA sent us a really complex application form in July which we had to turn around in a couple of weeks. The LA then submitted the applications to DfE at the end of August...

What sort of projects have you requested funding for? We are a complete new build so as soon as we get the go ahead it will be all systems go to get it up and running for next Aug!

Relocation/new build ... keys hand over date is scheduled for 1 st week of September - tight turnaround to be open for second week, not looking forward to the workload but looking forward to the overall future ..... if it happens

Oh great, thanks for the update hali, I had half hoped we might hear tomorrow as it's the Autumn budget but maybe not then. Any details on how/where you got this info would be really helpful, thanks again!

Littlesparkle, the only condition I know of is that the 30 hours funding places which the grant creates need to be up and running by Sept 2017. I seem to remember being told that the LA would administer the grants and I guess oversee the projects to ensure the deadline is met. I hope that if/when an offer of a grant has been made that it is guaranteed as we need to place the order for our timber building ideally before January in order to keep to the time scale. This will mean putting in our own funds so we need to be sure that we will definitely be getting the grant on time.

The presentation info still says decisions will be "by December 2016" so it's still a case of watching and waiting I guess.... 8 days until December (and counting!)

Our LA could submit 8 bids and they didn't total the full allowance that could be applied for so I'm waiting very impatiently with everything crossed and everything crossed for everyone else too..... who's betting they make us wait till last day of December !

Our LA was six and as far as I'm aware they didn't reach the total for the LA either. I'm so over waiting now, I just want to know!

 

This is why I'm confused over how it can have been oversubscribed as each LA had a limit of projects and funds.

ours was 6. unfortunately our LA don't tell us anything so no idea if 6 were submitted.

 

I definitely think they'll make us wait till end of Dec. Every email notification I get I'm hoping this could be it!

I emailed "Childcare Works" who are project managing the 30hours role out for the DfE and their response was "in December".
