Hi everyone

I'm wanting to put up some effective prompts around nursery, especially for staff to be able to support creating and thinking critically, so far I've got-

.tell me about what you an see

.why do you think that...?

I wonder if we...?

.what do you think would happen if...?

I would be grateful for any input

Thanks in advance

Dianne

'Wh'y is a high level question so probably only for your older children

what /when/ how/ what if/ if then what

one of the things I find tricky is negative questions so.......which one is not green/ doesn't make a noise/can't be eaten etc

...once embedded it becomes part of your practise ;)

Thank you finleysmaid

It will be very interesting to see the reaction/answers I get when using a negative question, can't wait to try it.

thank you for your help

ours are on what we call the washing line

Panders, that made me laugh. Not because you put the questions on the washing line (great idea!) but because you sound like Miranda's mother "I put them on what I call 'the washing line'" xD:D

If you're not a Miranda fan, you'll have no idea what I'm talking about! :D

Loved Miranda - such a shame she's not writing any more!

I've put these questions on the ceiling so staff can look up and pretend to think but use them as a prompt

i would love to do that but we are in a church room and the ceiling is so high

1 - i wouldnt be able to reach it

2 - dont think staff would be able to read it from that height lol
