blondie Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Hi, we have received an application from a 17 year old who has just completed her nvq2 - she has yet to be interviewed but if suitable can anyone tell me what extra steps i have to put in as she is only 17? what forms etc., do i need to complete? is it a lot of extra work? she would be employed as a member of staff not an apprentice. many thanks as want to be ready if she is the successful applicant. :0) Quote
lsp Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 I think you might need to carry out a separate risk assessment for a young person. It seems to be somewhere in the back of my mind from risk assessment course. Quote
mundia Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 At 17 she can be counted in ratio and therfore as far as I am aware, you don't need to do anything 'extra' to what you would normally do for induction, probation, support and supervision of a newly recruited member of staff. Quote
lsp Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 When is she 18? Just found a gov document about employing children which states the age of a child rises to 18 in 2015. Will try to put link up. Quote
finleysmaid Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 I thought they had to be 18 to be in ratios now? we have risk assessments for under 18 students includes use of knives for instance ! and dangerous equipment ! Quote
