narnia
I am just about to pay my annual Ofsted fee..................£220............but we might be in the position of moving to different premises in the autumn. Does anyone know if a) We would have to re-register the 'new' premises ( a preschool which is currently closed) B) if we do have to re-register, will we get any refund on the amount I am about to pay for the current premises?? c) will I have to re-register as a suitable person?? I guess i should phone the 'O' people to ask really, but thought someone on here might have been in a similar position so would know the answer
Stargrower
We moved premises a few years ago and... a) Yes! b) I'm not sure...I can't remember if we were in this position but I don't ever remember being refunded! I wonder if they just carry the fee over to the new registration - you'd have to ask them c) Yes!

sunnyday
Can't help with your query narnia - sorry........ If calling O good luck - I have rung this morning with the most simple of questions - was on the phone for 20 minutes as the lady (who was very nice) felt she had to read through all info held by them (as opposed to just listening to what i was telling her) - madness - that's 20 minutes I will never get back
woodlands1997
We are having to re register as we became partners, submitted new registration in April, old registration needed renewing in July so had to pay the £220 for that as new one wasn't complete. Then had to pay £220 for new one in September BEFORE they would do all suitability checks etc and still waiting now for registration visit etc. Their view - it's tough, we have had to pay twice and paying for a setting that isn't even 'open' yet. Absolute joke, tried complaining but got nowhere - no refunds at all apparently :-(
woodlands1997
Oh and you have to do a whole new thing, dbs checks, references, health declaration etc to be the suitable person - even though they have all this already!!!

woodlands1997
Yes infuriating! The haven't quite confirmed whether our fee is from the day we paid or the day we are actually allowed to open - I know which I think it will be!!!
