Inge
we used our poster paints , children threaded first then painted so could be done on the same day and hung to dry... if we wanted a glossy finish it was then given a coat of PVA next day We did try food colour but for some reason it kept breaking and cracking

Inge
does it come off when it dries? no it soaks into the pasta to colour it so cannot use too much.. made ours very brittle and the colour was less vibrant against painting them. add some glue to the paint and we found it sticks really well with no issues..
zigzag
When we did it we just mixed a tiny drop of water with the food colouring, added the pasta and made sure it was well coated and left it to dry. I do not recall that it flaked. :1b
wellerkaren
Our children use feltips to colour in the pasta as they make up their necklace.
