Soo looking for a new job, currently working in a playschool, but would love to get into a school,

do you think writing to some schools looking for work is a good idea or not?

And what kind of things if so to put in the letter??

I personally don't think that idea would get you very far, but how about doing some volunteer work in a school local to you that you'd be interested in working in?

 

That way you get a bit of experience and your face known?

 

Obviously this would depend if the play school hours would allow.

 

I would inclined to keep your eye on your local council jobs site too where TA posts are advertised!

In my area it does seem as though the only way to get into working in a school is to volunteer or work as a mid day supervisor.

I like initiative and there is no harm to write in but as others say , it is usually best to volunteer to get your face known and for the schol to see how fantastic you are first hand - our school tended then to make volunteers aware of possible posts and many midday assisitants have ended up as TA's -good luck

Our local primary rarely advertise positions, they all go to those already volunteering or who are dinner supervisors.
