beth1 Posted October 5, 2012 Author Posted October 5, 2012 Sounds like very good news to me! It is good news in one way. Teacher didn't seem to happy about another volunteer however the current one is moving classes in a couple of weeks time. Quote
Rea Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 (edited) Never mind what the teacher feel's Beth, its good news for you and it seem's they've recognised your worth. :1b :1b Edited October 5, 2012 by Rea Quote
Susan Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 And now you express an interest in the full time position! Quote
beth1 Posted October 5, 2012 Author Posted October 5, 2012 The head knows I am going for PGCE this year. So I may go for the full time post too. Quote
lashes2508 Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 glad some head way has been made , though it should not have taken a melt down for those above to see what it was doing to you - staff should be valued as much as the children ,Beth still get that job description so that you have clarification of what is expected of you in working hours and if not possible then school needs to reflect on their allocation of TA's and how they are best deployed. :1b Quote
Guest Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Didn't want to read and run... lots of really good advice has been given to you but I was just wondering if the other TA's felt like you do? Is there anyway you could go on mass to express your concerns to the Senior Management Team. Having worked in a school, very similar to the one you are describing, our TA's were gradually being more and more taken advantage of. It took one very brave TA, but she gathered the TA's together and made sure that they were heard - its a lot to ask but maybe you could be that brave one if others felt the same way. In my current school, we also have regular TA meetings which are chaired by me - being the Deputy. They do take the opportunities to voice their concerns and opinions and I then feed them back to my head. Do you have TA meetings that you could possibly address your concerns? I do wish you well and hope you can begin to feel much better soon. Nik Quote
