Rafa Posted September 11, 2012 Share Posted September 11, 2012 Big Red Combine Harvester.....got to be a winner . we also fill our tuffspot with all manner of vegetable, bread, and fruit and let the children explore with hands and peelers, scissors and graters, bowls and wooden spoons for mixing and stirring! Susan Posted September 11, 2012 Share Posted September 11, 2012 I usually make bread at harvest time and give the children real dough to mix, explore and play with --using an instant bread mix. You could teach the children the story of the Little Red Hen re Pie Corbett with actions and they could begin to record it, making little books etc. Im sure you could find some images and make stick puppets to retell the story too. Or maybe masks to re enact it! Once you have made the bread, trying making butter by shaking cream in a jar and eat it with the bread? We ask permission to visit some near us each year, before the plots are cleard for being dug over, and have a super time identifying different crops.
