Hi, looking for a new name for our version of a learning journey. There is nothing wrong with calling it that but I was wondering if there is something a bit more child friendly to call it? Any suggestions?

We used to call them 'Records of Achievement' before switching to 'Learning Journey', but as I'm opening a new setting with a friend we're wondering the same thing so will watch this thread with interest.

Hi Hoolahoney

We call them 'Busy books' because they include all different types of evidence of things where we have been busy!!!!! We put a 'busy bee' on the cover too. Hope this helps.

We simple call ours 'special books' when talking with the children........... usually development books/folders when talking with parents (again sometimes special books, very much depends of the parent)......................................... but 'scrapbooks' when referring to them staff wise!

We call ours learning journeys but with the children we refer to them as special books

Development files we call ours. But i like the idea of Children's Timelines myself. What ever they are called, they are very important and we love ours :D

Mine say Learning Journey on them but when I talk to the children we just call them your 'special book'.

We call them 'All About Me' books, but we are the same when talking to the children and just call them your 'specail book' also

Up until last term Learning Journals to us and Special Books to the children.

From this term we're using an online system though so I don't know what we'll refer to them as! Maybe 'Special Blog'??
