skippy
Hi just wondering if anyone can answer "Do committee members need to be CRB checked?" I know if there are in direct contact they do but what if they only attend meetings?
Fredbear
Yes all members of a committee have to be CRB this is a condition from Ofsted. Although they may only come to meetings as your employers there maybe a time when they may have to attend when the children are present. Guest
Yes they do. Their crb check s done through OFSTED. When new committee is elected at AGM then you have to inform OFSTED. These forms are what you need http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/resources/childca...d-registered-pr http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/resources/childca...tion-ofsted-ey3
skippy
Thank you Bridger and Marley. We had previously been told that if the person was not in contact with the children we could do a declaration from them of nothing. For us it is the cost of doing the CRB's for all committee and staff. Marley Do you know if the setting has to pay for the forms you linked? Thanks again Skippy
Fredbear
Hi we are committee run and registered with Ofsted and we have never paid for any crbs .
Guest
Hi. No all CRB done through OFSTED ie committee and manager are free. OFSTED have to do these ones to ensure that they are suitable for being the registered person. Hope tht helps
Guest cludall
agree with marley. additionally any staff member who has not had a CRB in your setting already is free - DFE pay for it - so if you have committee members who move over to being staff - like i have - their FIRST staff Crb is also free. finleysmaid
...is it my imagination or have i just read in the new eyfs that ofsted will no longer do these and it will be up to the setting?(from sept obv.)
Inge
As a volunteer there is no cost for getting a crb - at the moment it is free.. so if it means a change of you ensuring they are done against sending it all off to Ofsted and waiting for them to lose it, do it again, then they return some not all, then sending again and taking a year to get them done.. i would be all for doing them myself! thumperrabbit
...is it my imagination or have i just read in the new eyfs that ofsted will no longer do these and it will be up to the setting?(from sept obv.) ..think I've read that they are still doing committee but not the manager/leader! Wouldn't surprise me if we all have to start paying for them soon
Guest
Does anyone know anything about renewing CRB's. Apparently it is going to cost us £62 to renew each CRB that is over 3 years old. I know it is free for new people at the setting. And I do believe the 3 year renewal is more recommended than required. Do you guys pay for renewals or are you happy having CRB's that are over 3 years old when trusted staff members are still with you? There are so many other things we would prefer to spend money on that we really need!
