Panders Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Hi, does anybody have a really well illustrated version of the Gingerbread Man, looking for something in a large format - not the Little Ladybird books. Could you recommend a version? I thought Tony Bradman may have done a copy, but can't find a picture or size of the format on Amazon.
Fredbear Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Hi have you tried Madeline Lindley for large format books. I know they have a traditional stories section, might be worth a look, but i'm not sure of price though.
StrawberyTwirl Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Hi, we did The Gingerbread Man (out of the ark) as our end of term show... but couldn't find a good large format book to read. I drew pictures on our white board as i told the story. We also used puppets, and visual props. It worked well and the children independently accessed the white board, drawing the story, during their free play time.
chocisgood Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 (edited) hi panders, i got this one ready for next time i do it. Thought the children will like making it up with the stickers with me too. Not sure if it big enough though? it has nice shiny paper and big pics. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Can-Make-Story-Gin...n/dp/1844222659 Edited November 1, 2011 by chocisgood

HappyMaz Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Worked perfectly, Chunkyman! Looks lovely and child-friendly!
Panders Posted November 2, 2011 Author Posted November 2, 2011 Thank you for your ideas so much - We usually make individual cut out house shaped biscuits and the children then ice and decorate them as they wish in a sort of gingerbread house style - this year thought we would do gingerbread men, have bought a huge one from John Lewis and need a good version of the story to really bring it all to life so to speak, your ideas and suggestions are just what was needed! Am off to Amazon now!
