klc106 Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Hi, I am still planning lots of things for my new pre-school opening in September. I have been informed that I could use the Foundation Stage Quality Review to evaluate my setting but I was just wondering if I still have to do the OFSTED sef as well. Sorry if it is a silly question! P.S. my setting is based in Leicestershire
hali Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 No one HAS to do the Ofsted SEF as long as you are evaluating your provision in some way
Inge Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 use just one. find what is best for you and your team.. remembering it is a working document and will constantly change.. . as Hali said Ofsted sef is not mandatory and I know settings n this area do not use it but use a local one...so long as you are evaluating and documenting...
mundia Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 You might just want to check with any criteria your LA sets on self evaluation for your funding. Ours just specifies that settings engage with a form of self evaluation, but some LAs are a little more prescriptive than that.
Deb Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Hi KLC I've asked a question in the same vein about quality evaluation tools - see link to discussion - so am interested in your question too. http://eyfs.info/forums/index.php?showtopi...mp;#entry299080 I haven't heard of the Foundation Stage Quality Review - could you point me in the direction of some further information?
