Pay For Royal Wedding Day ?

sorry if this has already been asked, but are staff being paid for the royal wedding day off ?? we closed that day. also -are we receiving NEG for that day, or is that 'knocked off' ??

I did ask our local funding officer for my area and was told that funding would be applicable for this day, best to give them a call to check.

We are also paying our staff for this day too.

Yes best check with your own L.A, here in Kent funding was paid for the children and it was up to PVI's whether they opened or not. We didn't open, and I paid staff.

Same here our funding was paid - up to us whether we opened or not ( only one setting in the city did to my knowledge) and yes staff will be paid.

As I understand it, employers could choose not to pay staff for this day off? We closed, and I did pay staff.

another query about the extra 'holiday'...if you closed and didnt charge / claim grant...would you then need to add an extra day to the term to compensate loss of one of the days in the funding period?

would depend on LEA requirements... ours usually only pays for days with children in the setting.. so we would have to open an extra day to get the funding.. others may let you have the funding without the extra day... you will need to check locally..

We got paid and chose to pay the staff. Can't really justify having a day off , getting the fees in and not paying staff unless we were in financial need, which we aren't.

Our LEA says we don't have to give parents an extra day for Bank Holidays, we can keep the money. I usually do give it, but might look at this again in future, especially as the purse strings tighten!

Our

wedding day fell in our easter holidays here so I have been given a random 20 june off although we dont get paid for it.

Schools here are having the wedding day at different times..son had his today, hubby had his added onto end of easter hols and daughter got hers the day before leaving school for summer! Confusing!!
