Guest Posted April 12, 2011 Share Posted April 12, 2011 We just have ours as a section in our 'inclusion and disability' policy, rather than make it a 'stand alone' one. I think schools often have a separate one as they need to allow children to manage their own treatment as appropriate to their age, and so children need to look after their own mediaction. It is a bit different with the 0 - 5s as any medication needs to be kept away from other children's inquisative fingers! Staff just need to be able to follow the same procedures as for other medicines i.e getting signed permissions, recording when the medicine is given and parents signing this record.
