Advanced Childminder?

I am also an accredited childminder, I had visits from Trio Childcare who assessed my practices and planning, this was pre EYFS as we all have to plan for each child now.

Showing evidence of assessments, planning etc. I hope this helps, I must say though the accreditation doesnt cover my usual fees while the child is here.

Well I had my assessment and everything went very well! In my area we dont have the accreditation anymore as we all have to do the same amount of paperwork! It is now called an Advanced Childminder- Yesterday my EYSO came around and gave everything a thorough assessment ( took longer than Ofsted) and now I have passed! I have signed up to agree to keep everything up to date and to 15 hours of traning a year and 4 visits a year from my Eyso ( 1 being unannounced!) In return I get a shiny new Certificate to put on the wall that values all my hard work!

The next step is to register with my local authority to become a NEF childminder and then I have hopefully reached my goal for a while! Its interesting that everywhere in the country does it a little bit different as I thought we were all the same!

I have to attend at least 2 network support meetings a year, 4 days professional development per year, 1 annual visit plus at least 1 unannouced visit, evidence of working in partnership with other professionals and update the local FIS with vacancys everymonth. I do all this and actually haven't had a NEF child yet!
