Panders Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 If anyone listens to podcasts or iplayer of Woman's Hour this morning there was a discussion from about 10.30 until 10.45 about brain based learning, the differences in learning styles of girls and boys and why boys need to play fight!
HoneyPancakes Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 I was listening with one ear. Very interesting, and some of the points were contrary to my previous idea about learning styles. Did think that one of the speakers didn't get the point about EYFS. That following children's interests is happening in schools and Early Years settings now. Must have another listen to get it straight. Fe
Steve Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Thanks Panders - at the risk of ridicule (yes it was Woman's Hour but hey I pay the license fee...) I heard this and yes it was very interesting. I was going to let people know about it and clocked the time (around 10.35 so just over 50% of the way through for anyone who wants to listen again).
HappyMaz Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Just a thought (and I'm sure you'll be allowed to listen to Woman's Hour Steve - we strive to be inclusive after all!). Is there any kind of learning that isn't 'brain based learning'? I shall have to go and find it - or wait til Weekend Woman's Hour... Maz
