redbase Posted February 13, 2010 Share Posted February 13, 2010 If you want a wonderful weekend away with group of people, either family of friends then i highly recommend the National Trust cottage at Stourhead in Wiltshire. It absolutely fab with super accomadation..comfy beds, lovely well equipped kitchen, open fire, modern bathroom, dining room in beautiful surroundings. Walks and garden really good as well as farm shop, pub, cafe and gift shop all near by. Just had a girlie weekend away with 6 others and had a really relaxing time. We've stayed in a number of national trust cottages over the years (not that one though!), and they have all been great, comfy, off the beaten track, ticked all our boxes every time. Yes with open fires too..so cosy with delicious homecooked food. Anyone able to recommend similar accomodation in Sussex, Hampshire or Somerset as us girls would like to book somewhere different next year but we have been so spoilt at Stourhead we keep returning (3rd visit this year) Needs to be somewhere that sleeps 8.
