Does the inspector ask for the Chair to be there?

Interesting question.

 

Given that my LA have insisted I must be the nominated person, you'd think so. But given that I travel a lot for work it may not be convenient for me personally as chair (I would LOVE to tell the inspector that!)

 

Will be really interested to hear people's responses.

Our Chair has not been at either of our last two inspections. We did have them over 2 days and offered to get him in at least at one of them, but the inspector said it wasn't necessary. However it might be one of those things which changes from inspector to inspector!

In all my years I've only known the chair to be present once and it was she who initiated it not the inspector. But sods law says now I'm chair it will be mandatory

For our last 3 inspections the chair was not present, nor asked for or enquired about by inspector.

Ours has never been asked for either. She does come to the feedback though.....to hold our hands!

Ours was not there, even though she could've been and we did ask!

 

However because she wasn't there the inspector called her at home and asked her some questions with regards to; recruitment, safeguarding and equality. I made sure she had our policy book to hand and she was able to refer to it.

to and if not able to come in person the inpsector has phoned the chair, but this may be dependent upon whether a suitable persons check on chair has already been carried out prior to inspection.
