Rea
During my stint on the ward yesterday, I got chatting to a lovely lady, 86 years old with loads of stories about her war years and life. All about being a land girl and showing the Americans round. While chatting she suddenly said 'oh I need the toilet'. I called the ward manager who was just passing and told her. 'Oh M, you have a pad on, do you remember? you dont go to the toilet' she said and then smiled and left. M shook her head 'I forget about that, I pi** here dont I?' I suggested she might want me to leave her for a while to which she replied with a wicked little smile 'Oh no dear, you stay, we can sing a duet'. I really have the best job (?) in the world, ever. narnia
so do I, particularly with the recent news items about patients being left to P in their beds etc. I know from experience ( in ITU/hospital 4 years ago, very ill) and when I was able to use the commode, two nurses in particular would refuse to take them away when I asked. oh yes, and I had c.diff as well, making it essential that they were cleared away asap.
