Do you have to let Ofsted know if your setting closed for one day (e.g. an outing)?

Nope. but you should leave a notice saying where you are and anticipated time of return plus a contact number for yourself and for a responsible other person who isn't going on the trip and who has emergency contact details for every child and adult on the trip.

Does it say this anywhere in the EYFS Cait or are you just in Girlguiding mode?

It was insisted upon by my local team - I assumed (from your response -wrongly it would seem) that it was general 'good practice'

hi ya, we closed on wednesday to go on trip, think i will go with response of leaving note on door explaining closed for day. they will return at their convenience i suppose, but did ask self same ? did i have to inform them and felt same, tough!
