Guest
They sound great Sue. A little of what you fancy does you no harm at all, as long as it is a little. We seem to have become obsessed about what is healthy and what is not (not us personally but the government etc.) I think we will have to try those sandwiches-but pesto ones Sue R!! YUK!!! Guest
I know I've probably missed the boat on the whole sandwich making topic and the thread has moved on but I'm only just back after my Dad had a serious fall earlier this month!!!! I too introduced the make your own snack thing on a Friday. I started simply with bread and butter and with 26 children 5 at a time it took just over two hours!!!!! Managers were not happy!! I perservered and until last week when I, and a competant staff mamber from pre-school were both off it worked perfectly ( the children were making two rounds of sandwiches, with a partner, one made the sweet one the other the savoury, it meant teamwork and a lot of tasting) Unfortunately, the last time it was done it took over 3 hours!!!! This has been stopped now, as I cannot guarantee that I will be available to undertake the activity, and there does not seem to be anyone else to do it successfully!!!! I think in my capacitity as Senior Staff Member I may make it my weekly thing with the children, let you know if get approval. Jan
