Rea Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Well done wendles. I imagine she's a tiny bit embaressed so she didnt want to admit you were right. Quote
lynned55 Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Poor you wendles, you have my sympathy. We had a child last year with an egg allergy, needed an epi-pen. This year we have a nut allergy, with epi pen- we are always so careful with her, esp as our children bring in packed lunches, guess what she had in her lunch one day? a Ferrara Roche! We currently have 2 others whose parents say they are allergic to eggs, still waiting for confirmation from Drs. Rarely would a child bring in cakes to us, nearly always bring in sweets but as nearly all sweets that are in multi packs contain list of ingriediants on the outside packaging we have now implemented a policy of not accepting anything unless it is in it's outside wrapper. We really cannot afford to take the chance with our nut allergy. Although things are becoming increasingly complicated as more & more companies now state " Does not contain nuts but cannot guarantee to be nut free" Tesco the worst, pasta, orange squash, really surprised by some of it. I think a lot of the companies are just trying to cover themselves. Quote
Cait Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 I'm sure that's what it is - and you can't blame them. My bag of cashew nuts says that it contains nuts, and apparently on a carton of milk recently someone noticed 'warning, contains milk' sigh. Quote
Shiny Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 A few years ago we had a child with an 'allergy' to orange food colouring. You can imagine our suprise/horror when at a party his mother loaded his plate with Wotsits and cheese footballs!! Quote
