I've finally got round to ordering some tongs, tweezers and pipettes for my reception class to develop their fine motor skills - I just wondered if you had any super duper ideas for things to do with them? We use them often in the water, as you have said with sequins, but also with beads, "jewels" or nuggets. As part of a counting activity we have used the rubber animals, fruits shapes, mini dinosaurs. We have them in the water but with pots alongside for counting them in to. Those tweezers can be quite tricky so we do spend alot of time with tongs first! cathrich Posted October 15, 2008 Share Posted October 15, 2008 We use one of those non slip bath mats turned upside down, so the the popper bits are stiching out like little cups, with marbles and tongs. The children enjoy tring to fill up all of the 'cups' with the marbles using the tongs to pick them up. Have learnt to put this in the tuff spot tray so that marbles don't roll everywhere!!
