Guest
I wonder if anyone can help...... I am based in Swansea as a Link Teacher for Flying Start - part of that role includes giving training for childcare workers. I am trying to source some good video clips specifically for birth to three - any ideas? Thanks
Guest Wolfie
Hi and welcome to the forum swansea76! If you've got some money to spend, have a look on this site - I can't recommend them highly enough but they aren't cheap! Maybe if you can use them as a central resource you might be able to club together?? http://www.sirenfilms.co.uk/
Helen
I agree with Wolfie: the Siren Films training materials are excellent

Lucy P
Hi Wolfie and Helen Do you have these dvd's? If so, which ones? I have just had a look and they all look excellent! I want them all! I am wondering if i can use the GLF for these.
Guest Wolfie
My Children's Centre bought the whole set, to be used as a central resource by all the Children's Centres and also any PVI settings that want to borrow them - I was glad about that because I couldn't choose either! You won't be disappointed by any in my opinion, so you'll just have to make a decision somehow! I think I would go for the Child Development ones before the Observation ones if I had to choose - you can always use the CD ones for Observations training too! surfer
Hi Wolfie - just had a dicsussion about these today. We are going to do what you have done and buy them as a cluster. They look great but the cost would be off putting for many settings. Have you actually used them yet for training?
Guest Wolfie
Unfortunately not...and now I'm leaving so I'll have to try and persuade my new Centre to invest in some! I've been on the receivng end of some training using them though - Marion Dowling often uses clips on her courses.
Helen
I agree with Wolfie: they're all great. SirenFilms sent me a copy of their latest one, "The Wonder Year" (1st year development & shaping the brain). The first person to send me a PM can have it, as long as you agree to do a review for the FSF
