tuffspot
I've got a couple of staff about to start on their NVQ's. Now, does anyone know- do they count towards my qualified or non qualified staff? thanks
Lucy P
These staff will remain unqualified until they have completed the qualification
Rea
When I did my DPP I could be counted as qualified staff. I was deputy and was able to take charge if the playleader was away. It might have been fairly late on in the course though, and things might have changed since then.

I actually took over as leader for week while the Supervisor was ill and that was 2 months into the DPP course. Again this was a while ago (2002) so rules may have changed. tuffspot
I had "heard" (it may have been in one of my many ofsted nightmare dreams) that if they were enrolled on the course and taking part they counted, is there anywhere in the ofsted tomes that the definitive answer may be written? Inge
If they are working towards they can usualloy be counted in qualified staff, but find it wrritten down is another thing.. ours was in agreement with Ofsted as we could show an action plan on staff development and staffing levels.. try calling them for the definitve answer..
