Helen
Hi Safia, I've attached some documents that we use occasionally when we're looking at a particular area of learning, or a specific child we need to get detailed obs for. They might help. Helen
Thanks Aimee. Welcome to the forum and thanks for making your first post. Can you tell us a bit about the early years system where you are?
Upsy Daisy
Hi Aimee and welcome from me too. It would be very interesting to hear about the differences and similarities between the two early years sectors. My nephew is in school in Sydney and when his parents were over here they had the opportunity to see my daughter's reception classroom. They were amazed to see how play orientated the room was. Although he started school later, their son was expected to spend a lot of time sitting at tables writing from that age of four in the Kindergarten. Is this a common theme in Australia or is this particular setting unusual?

Beau
nursery name and children's names on them prob not a good idea for posting......unless they're fictional of course Deb, if you're referring to the ones cathy_m has posted I think they must be fictional. If you read through the bits at the beginning it says The following section includes some proformas, which you could use or adapt for different types of observations. All can be used in any setting, including a childminder’s home. There are two versions of each, showing minor adjustments, then two completed versions showing the sort of information you might observe and record.
