Hi everyone!
Almost forgot it's Friday today.
Sunnyday - Tuesday was a pretty weird weather day. I drove home from work where it was sunny- less than 2 miles (as the crow flies) at home the village was flooded in parts from rain that had just happended 😳
Can't believe we are heading into the last weeks of this year at work 😮. I had planned to finish this July, and I think mentally I have checked out already, as I just can't be bothered with doing all the bits and bobs I used to love doing. However, last minute changes means my daugter is actually considering taking it on - for a least a few years (lets be honest it is a job that fits in well with a young family 😊)
The job is definitely getting more difficult in terms of more children with 'needs'. For the first time ever we have had to cancel (or I should say 'rethink') our end of year little concert/show 😢 Out of 13 children only one can actually sing reliably, and a further 2-3 can do actions! Any ideas for alternative activities welcome!😭 So far we've come up with a forest walk then picnic- with the parents being resposible for their own children (yes- that how challenging some of them are this year!)
I'm actually looking forward to September- as so far they are looking a really nice bunch 😊😊
Have a good weekend all.

HAPPY MONDAY!
Bit late this week after a lovely week away in Norfolk. Weather perfect there with top temp 26 -which is more than hot enought for me 😊
Back to work today, but all good there too.
Right, off to finish filling the green bins with the week's unwanted garden growth before the rain comes.

Deep joy - hottest day of the year and we have no water...South East Water and I quote "couldn't say when supply will be restored"
😮 Not good!

Thnking of you Sue, and hoping for a speedy recovery. Things can change in a moment. I slid on a toy at work a week or so ago, luckily I was able to 'ride it out' (literally ... like a skateboad, much to the children's amusement I should add!😳😂). But I'm not going to lie- although no injuries, but it did scare the h**l out of me!
Seems both Sunnyday and Froglet have been nice and busy this week- time for a rest.
Busy weekend here too, off to a mini music festival Sunday, then away to Norfolk for the week. Need to do a bit in the garden later to fill up the green bins due out next week - as we now have to pay for them! 🙄

Aww thank you. We had a lovely doggy walk, just my daughter and I with them. Nice phone call from my son when we were having a picnic, watching the steam engines nipping back and forth along the NYMR. Just one person noticeably missing, or it would have been perfect.
Happy Birthday, good to hear you had an almost perfect day xx

Therefore, the plan is -

- Have a disco/rave party........ she's only just realised I have blackout curtains in the bedroom! (I might take it to the next level - and get out the bubble machine😂

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

I can't believe how fast the weeks are going!
Usual weekly stuff going on. Just back from a nice lunch with Andy after a hosiptal eye check up for him.
Out Sunday... might be a bbq- might not! Such weird weather at the moment- very hot here Monday, then freezing Tuesday 🤷♀️😂
Hope everyone has a good weekend whatever they are doing.

Had a bizarre morning! Was just unloading the dishwasher for a mug to pour my tea into (other mugs are available, but this is a ‘bucket’ for my morning brew) when I heard the binmen. ‘Ah’ I thought, ‘I’ll go and bring that bin back in now, then it’s out of the way’. So off I went to get it. Walking past the garden bin, I realised that those will be collected tomorrow, so why not do a bit of ‘time and motion’ and take that one out and bring the empty one back at the same time! Grabbing the bin and walking past the flowerbed I spotted a couple of weeds so bent down to pull those, to put straight in the bin, you understand. Now, like many folk I know, I keep a handy trowel in the flowerbed, so squatting down, I retrieved that and got to work. A couple of hours later, the bed was weeded, fed with pelleted chicken manure, watered and the snapdragons planted out. The hosepipe was fixed, and the old bit coiled away and binned. I went back inside to wash my hands and put some hand cream on, because of course I’d not had gloves on. The dishwasher was still half emptied, the pot of tea was cold - and I’d still not brought the ruddy bin back in!
Love it! My kind off day 😂

'Operation Sort Out' I love that term.... think I'm going to adopt it as my new mantra!😁 EVERY night i think I'll make a start tomorrow- however, tomorrow never comes 😭
Hope Zigzag is having a good time.
I've been back at work a week, and I'm tired already! Homewise we have a very busy week ahead with something 'on' every day - nothing exciting I hasten to add.
have a good weekend everyone xx

You are so kind to remember. We travelled up to Southampton yesterday and have stayed in a lovely air b and b overnight. But imagine my sunrise when my son from London and his girlfriend turned up to surprise me for a night. I was totally gobsmacked and now understand the true meaning of that word! Cannot believe my husband surprised me like that! Just sat killing time now until 3pm boarding!
What an amazing start to your holiday! Have a fantastic time 😁

Good morning - 'tis Friday
How is everyone?
Dear zigzag - happy, happy cruising - hope that you have a wonderful time x
Another very busy week - holiday granddog was picked up late Tuesday always feels so strange when she has gone.. looked after two youngest grandchildren on Wednesday, not that they need a lot of 'looking after' now, yesterday was knitting group which was lovely I really enjoy that couple of hours of female company...and then here we are it's Friday again!
Our solicitor has been driving me mad - so many mistakes in her figures for probate - I assume she is charging her £200.00 per hour for every time that I have had to 'correct' her 🤦♀️ there is no excuse really - I have been looking after MIL's finances for the past 10 years and I presented everything to the solicitor beautifully (if I do say so myself🤣) - think we have had a breakthrough this week - hope so or there is a danger that I might self-combust!
We haven't made any progress at all with operation 'sort-out' this week - must, must just get on with it - perhaps we should make that our plan for this weekend...
Super weather - particularly Wednesday and yesterday - whoop!
Hope the weekend is kind to all x
Morning all.
Sorry to here stressful solicitor times. Selling my aprents house although actually easy/straightward as things go - but it was clealy obvious that our buyer was using a non local convency company, even though the buyer where localish. Some of the questions were down right weird! Question about who maintained the 'unmade' road 😂..... it was a pretty normal house in a normal road. They also kept asking about the planning permission for the rear extension - the house had no rear extension! 🤷♀️
Had a busy week, both with grandchildren, and days out ourselves. Possibly too much eating out!
I really do need to do some serious decluttering though. Every night I say 'tomorrow is the day' then next morning life happens and nothing gets done.
Hope everyones well, and have a good weekend all..... especially Zigzag on your cruise - think of us when you have a cocktail (or drink of your choice🍹)

I all, hope every one is ok, and yes bring on the real spring, though today doesn’t look too bad here.
I try and look in for a read still, but don’t want to bore you all with work stuff, I do miss when the forum was about sharing thoughts, ideas (
moaning),I need to retire, everything about early years just gets more and more demanding/depressing….the (lack of) funding, the behaviour, the parents, staffing (lack of) 🤯I’m spending the day with my funny 4 year old GS which always brightens things up.
Have a good weekend all ☀️ 🤞
I'm still working (just about- and with a whole new much more healthy attitude to it)...... I'm always happy to hear your rants!

Afternoon all.
Sunny day - you've reminded me that I'm supposed to be booking the Abba thingy! I shall await your verdict before I proceed 😂
Been really nice here weather wise, and It's actuallly made me feel motivated to sort the house out a bit - as you say Froglet, it makes you feel calm once you can start noticing the 'tidyness'
I quiet weekend end for us, and I hope everyone has a good one.

Beautiful 😍 I hope you enjoyed your day x
I have just come back from our local garden centre - I have NEVER in my 45 years of living here ever seen it so busy! As we left there was even carpark rage happening!! It used to be so quiet and calm there 😢.

Froglet- it's the things children say that keeps me in this job!
Another quietish so-so week for me.
We had our GSs birthday- and the bike did end up being ridden around the house... but at least it was 'new/clean', and nobody got their toes run over! 😂
Have to dash now- off to excercise class 😜

Afternnoon all.
It has been a beautiful week! Until today, however that said, I have managed to go to my exercise class, then daughter dropped in after work at 12.20 and started the lawn mower - I then managed to get the grass cut... it just started raining as I was putting the mower away. (Andy is out of action with bad shoulder/arm)
We have the GS's 3 bithday at the weekend hoping the weather won't be too bad -as he has a bicycle as his present!😂
Nothing much exciting this week to report.
Sunnyday enjoy the grandchildren tomorrow 😊

But I’m really more Autistic than artistic! So I don’t know who I was kidding! I’m not talented at all in handicrafts and it just looked a mess! Your offer is incredibly kind though, thank you. But I think I’ll just offload this somewhere!
Needle felting doesn't need you to be artistic! For a really easy make - just find a cookie cutter (heart shape works well) then fill it with wool and stab away, once it's all matted up- remove from the cutter and needle stab around the edges to 'smooth/round' it off... You can even add more felt if you want to make it fuller/fatter. It makes a pretty hanging heart- I guess you could put a few drops of essential oils to make it into car refreasher ? (but I've never tried that!)

It's Friday!
in Staff Lounge
Posted
Wow thanks! Loving the idea of a mini sports challenge thing!
Our's aren't to phyiscal towards us thankfully - although one staff member did get bitten a few weeks ago, but to be honest it was partly her own fault reallly.
A few years ago we had a child start with us, mum told us english was his first langage. Well on his first session he was throwing chairs at staff running kicking etc. Turns out he did not have one word of english..... once we actually stopped talking to him and just used visuals he turned into one of our most well behaved children! Poor thing, he'd had to put up with a lot of old women chasing him around saying gobble-di-gook to him!...he must have been petrified!
