Sleep policies - sheets storage and washing
SueFinanceManager replied to trekker's topic in Early Years Setting Management
Hi Trekker You need to have a crafty member of staff that could whizz them up on a sewing machine as they are only a rectangle sewn on 3 sides I guess. Maybe stupid suggestion but could you use large zip & seal type bags that you could then write names on or do they have to be big enough for a pillow too? Sorry never worked in a setting with beds so not sure what bedding needed. Sue x -

Morning all Cold old January here in Lewes. The snow on Wednesday came thick and fast about 4pm and any grit that had been on the roads had been washed away by rain and it caused chaos on the roads round here 😱 The roads are now clear but the snow is laying on the downs as it has been so cold since and so the downs look very pretty. I have a quiet weekend planned thank goodness....still trying to get over having had a house full for 2 weeks over the christmas holidays lol Take care all of you and keep warm Sue x

Happy Friday all. I am going to watch the Olympic opening ceremony later I think...the competitors are arriving down the Seine on boats I think! If you are interested in gymnastics the first 2 parts of the Netflix documentary about Simone Biles is a really interesting watch. The next episodes will be shown in the Autumn after she competes and will chart how she got on. Have fun weekends peoples xxx

That made me smile....my mum often ends up watching old films including Christmas ones when she is fed up of whatever is on offer on the TV. I will suffer through the footie on Saturday evening although I cannot say i am excited about the prospect ..... feel I have to do it though because if I don't watch it I cannot moan about it after the event lol Sunday afternoon if I have done all my chores I plan to sit and watch the British grand prix. My daughter is a big F! fan and has got me dipping in far more often than I used to. I have to get the house ready for the arrival of my grandson next week who is coming to stay with Nanny and Papa. William will be 3 in September so he is at that fab age where everything is exciting and interesting. We have some nice days planned including the sea life centre and Brighton peir so hopefully the weather will be kind. The sandpit (well a builders tray) will be refilled with sand and the golf/cricket/football eqipment will be dusted down ready for use. So as I will be running around like a loon after a toddler next week feel free to use the C word without fear of being sent to the naughty step 😆

Labour's plans for 3000+ nurseries in primary schools
SueFinanceManager replied to Helen's topic in Teaching and Learning
I hadn't thought about that issue as in a school based nursery might effectively replace/put out of business a local PVI setting but one is full day care and the other term time only. Working families cannot be limited to term time only settings.....trying to cover the holidays especially of you are a single parent is almost impossible. Another issue to overcome. I do, on the other hand think what Helen said above about maybe nursery staff could benefit from better pay and conditions would be a great thing for the workforce. -
Hi sunnyday Sun is shining here too...about time lol 3 - 95 - how wonderful...hope you took lots of photos 💗 The football.....hmmm well think Gareth Southgate might have lost the plot. I know players cannot always play were they normally play for their own teams but some of the roles seem a bit bonkers and it's no wonder players are not performing well 🥺 Anyway, have wonderful weekends one and all and hopefully the good weather will last 🙏

It is all about balance sunnyday....one side of the basket was salad and antipasti (can't be bothered to cook when he is away) and so the other side was wine and chocolate...Balance! 😄

Good morning and all that but can I ask how is it Friday again already????? It seems like 5 minutes ago I read your message last Friday! Needless to say I did not get out on the golf course last Saturday but I did manage a round on Monday in the sun in my shirtsleeves 🌞 No playing golf for me this weekend but will be mostly walking the dog, pottering around doing a few chores then spending hours watching The Masters from Augusta, Georgia (big golf tournament for those not interested in golf). Hubby left about 10 minutes ago to travel up to Preston to spend the weekend with my son & gorgeous grandson so I have the house all to myself. I went yesterday and brought all my favourites to eat over the weekend and a bag of malteasers might have fallen in the basket next to the wine....these accidents happen but what's a girl to do eh??? Have fun weekends whatever you are up to xx

Such good news about Mr S - hopefully now you can start having some more fun out and about. I too am getting a little tired of soggy spaniel...it has been so wet here that it is even muddy up on the chalk downs that surround us and they drain well but they are just so saturated 😫 I am supposed to be golfing tomorrow but course closed again today as a result of overnight rain....I am wondering if I will ever play golf in 2024!
