Hi, I don't think I have put this in the right forum but hopefully I will be moved if that is the case-thanks. I was on another site flicking through for planning when a post caught my eye. I have not seen it on foundation stage forum so thought I woulod advise people. It appears that the person concerned is on remand and in court today. He has admitted crimes against children- From the information on the LA websites it appears he has pleaded "guilty" and is being held in remand while awaiting sentence sometime this month.
I believe from one of the links that he is in court today
The sites are registered to Samuel King (KS1) AND Samuel Kinge (KS2) info is available on line.
The rest of the info is now also officially on line
The Y & Hgfl link (ref the above) is http://www.hgfl.org/index.cfm?s=1&m=1&...kw=&id=5261
Scroll to the bottom of that page and click on (view the item) in the blue bar for background

The information above has been taken from another website. I am shocked and sadend by this news.
What a waste of someone with talent. Unforgiveable

I would agree with the above advice. using choice cards is a great idea. also the adult modelling the thought process of choosing- i wonder what i can play with now.... i think i'd like to play with dolls etc. modelling play ina small group if you have an area available for small group work. Poor little thing. Hope she becomes more confidant to enjoy your facilities.

Hi I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share their thoughts or policies regarding charrging for sessions for snow days. We are in a private run building with high costs. The pre school is in a tiny road which is like sheet ice as it is not gritted.Should we be charging for sessions or not.If we do not charge we will not be able to pay the wages and other bills. Any thoughts gratefully received. Thank you

Do you have shelter from rain / hot sun. If not a canopy or polycarbonate-( I think that is the right term) roof area

We too have to keep a copy for our Free Entitlement funding. We have to keep it for 5 years and then destroy it. This is our third year so in a couple of years we will have to shred and burn the old copies. I like the idea of writing COPY in black over it so that it is not easy to re photocopy

Thanks it well really well, according to ofsted today, we're outstanding!

Does anyone else have this issue. Are there tap regulators for temperature. Do some settings use cold water- Mrs O is due and i am panicking. Any advise? thanks in advance for any suggestions

We have a child who is on the autistic spectrum who is going to school in January. he uses a toilet but not for poos which he now hangs onto till he gets home. We tried using favourite toys-plastic so we can sterilise it for him to use on potty but that hasn't helped. We also have a girl who won't wee at nursery but ends up wetting just around home time. We don't make an issue of it in the hope that they will go if not pressurised. We still offer them to go as we do with other children. To put it into perspective for most children this will not be an issue with soiling when they are much older- That said many children prefer to use thir own toilet rather than school ones- When I have visited some schools I can understand why. Sorry to ramble....

Part of our classes Christmas performance is saying the Christmas pudding poem which goes
Into the basin
Put the plums,
Stir-about, stir-about,
Stir-about!
Next the good
White flour comes,
Stir-about, stir-about,
Stir-about!
Sugar and peel
And eggs and spice,
Stir-about, stir-about,
Stir-about!
Mix them and fix them
And cook them twice,
Stir-about, stir-about,
Stir-about!
After the ingredients have been gathered together in the bowl they are going to do a little dance to 'mix them up' to make the pudding. Usually I can think of suitable music but I have gone completely blank today and we must start practising the dance soon(like yesterday really!)Do any of you brilliant people have any suggestions for a short piece of music we could use.
Thank you
How about music from the Nutcracker suite- you know the music to everyones a fruit and nutcase...- sorry showing my age sigh

How about a map for them to work out where the pigs have gone and clues. I did something similar with Goldilocks, the children loved it and we used the ict package 2 simple- create a story which the children drew and we annotated. Good luck

Hi everyone,
I've been thinking about our book corner and putting some more interesting books into it. I am interested in any suggestions of books that you have found enticing and communication provoking particularly books that challenge stereotypes such as bookks about dads staying home or female electricians. Many thanks in advance

this might sound harsh but i have a new member of staff been with us since september 9 weeks total. She is still on probation till end of Nov. She works thurs and fri morning. out of a possible 18 sessions she has only worked 10. this is really awarkward because of ratios. the staff or children have not had time to relate to her. her reasons for being ill seem valid although another member of staff disagrees with me.
What do I do she is back on thursday after 3 weeks off.
buttercup
Hi Buttercup, It is a tricky situation. Did she have a valid doctors certificate. Perhaps explaining the effects her sickness is having on the staff team may prompt her to be off sick less. I explain to new staff before they start that they are joining a small team and that my staff team are normally veryy ill before they take time off as everyone else then has to struggle with an increased workload. It normally works. Good luck

Hi, I am laid up in bed and my brain is addled with pain killing drugs. Ofsted is due any moment now! Has anyone written a questionnaire for parents views ontheir nursery. If any one can share their thoughts and ideas on what to put in a questionnaire I would be very grateful as my mind is just not focussing on anything and I am getting stressed. Thanks in advance
