  1. Sorry this is long, buts here's the full email I have received. I've underlined what I believe to be the relevant part.

    Dear Mrs *****.

Thank you for completing the registration details form.

Ofsted has reviewed your registration details form and may, if necessary, have updated its systems to match the information you provided. Ofsted will also be issuing you with a new style certificate to display at your settings. Once you receive your new certificate your existing certificate will be no longer valid and you should destroy it.

I would like to take this opportunity to confirm the requirement for you to keep Ofsted up to date with changes to registration. These requirements are outlined in; sections 3.77 and 3.78 of the Early Years Foundation Stage and Regulations 2008 Paragraph 26 of Schedule 3 of the Childcare (General Childcare Register).

Information on what you must report and how to update us can be found on our website at the following link

    https://www.gov.uk/register-childminder-childcare-provider/after-youre-registered

When it’s not possible to notify Ofsted in advance, you must tell them as soon as you can. It’s an offence not to tell Ofsted within 14 days of a change happening.

Please note that if you have provided information of an additional contact(s) in Section E of the data cleanse form the individual(s) have been added to our records. However, if you have selected you give them permission to access the registration's Self Evaluation form, they will not be able to gain access until June 2016. We will contact you closer to this time to advise you further.

As from 1 January 2016 there has been a change to legislation meaning the Nominated Individual must form part of the organisation’s governing body. For example, if the organisation is a limited company then the Nominated Individual would have to be one of the directors of the company listed on Companies House. If an organisation was committee run, the Nominated Individual would have to be a committee member. Any future changes made to the Nominated Individual for the organisation would have to reflect this change in legislation.

    Kind Regards,

    Mohammed Haji

  2. so, to try to make it clear now read this as saying that if your nominated person has not changed since before 1 jan 2016, then there's no requirement for them to be on committee. However, and nominated person changes from 1 Jan 2016 will require the NP to be for a committee member.

typical Ofsted to only say this now...this has caused me (and i'm sure many others) a lot of headaches in the meantime.

  3. Our inspector made it clear that the real difference is made by having outstanding staff, and clearly keeping the children at the heart of all that we do, not paperwork/displays etc. Unfortunately "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and sadly one inspector's idea of beauty may not be the same as anothers....

  4. Record everything, and try to persuade parents that he would benefit from a professional's input (ie a SEN referral)....I, like others on here am concerned that this child has development issues that would really benefit from diagnosis and early intervention. Clearly, only a paediatrician can give a diagnosis, but it seems clear that from what you have described, that he presents with behaviours that might suggest asd and /or adhd.

  5. ive had a reply! basically I must be on the board or the chair must take over nominated role. It's not too much of a problem (just another job to do paperwork for money laundering) what gets my goat is the fact that they can change these things at a moments notice and not have to tell anyone...until they send us out some random email sending the fear of *** in to us

Does anyone Know if headteachers have to be named on the board of governors ?

Oh ****, how long did it take from submission of the form for them to get back to you?

  6. Yiks I've had an email today (yes Sunday when you can do nothing about it) asking me to contact them at my earliest convenience ?

Do you thinkn they have finally sussed that you are not a committee member...not that you ever said you were? I await to hear what they want you for.....please update when you have contacted them!

  7. I did exactly that to, I expected an email saying 'No' but the reply just said 'Thank You for updating your details and to remember to notify them of any changes', I did phone and was told It was fine, it was for new registrations, phoned again for another reason last week and asked whilst I'm here can you confirm I'm ok to be the nominated person and was told 'your registration is exactly as it should be' ......she then said yes and you are a committee member anyway (I'm not but just said 'ok thank you' and left it at that :-/ )

Oh please please let them make the same assumption for me!!!!!!!!

  8. Ok. Think I'm going to bite the bullet here and just submit form that reflects our current position ie that current nominated person is not a committee member and just pray that it takes Ofsted so long to process the form that they don't realise until after we have closed down.....

I don't think I have anything to lose, in so much as the worst they can do is tell me to change nominated person.
