First Aid Kits

My playgroup meets in the village hall and all equipment has to go away each session. At the moment our Frist Aid kit is put out in the main hall along with the register, accident book etc. Strictly speaking it is not inaccessible to children though. However, I feel that putting it elsewhere will cause delays should the first aid kit be needed. What do other people do?

We have two first aid kits, both in cupboards and inaccessible to children. They are at either end of the building. One is in a cupboard in our messy room, this tends not to get used that often. The other is in a locked cupboard in the toilets. The key is very easy to grab hold of and the delay in opening the door is not that great. Because it is in the toilets there is instant access to water.

hi

We have two first aid kits one in each room.

One sits on a cupboard and the other on top of the piano.

Both are not really accessable to children and our Ofsted inspector was quite happy , as for registers and childrens files they are in seperate lockable files that again like you we pull in and out for each session and store under the desk in the main hall. :D

Our first aid kit and accident book are on a work top, out of the reach of children but easily accessable to adults.

Our register is also by the first aid kit as it needs to be easily got hold of in case of a fire. The chidlrens details are in the back of the register and their main registration forms etc are kept in a lockable filling cabinate.

Ours is on top of the piano and the register in a box the other end of the room.Think reading your replies it should be to-gether??

Always thought the first aid kit should go with the register which is why I put it in its present position. But am worried this is not inaccessible enough but wondered where else to put it!!

Never heard that the register and the first aid kit had to be kept together. We keep the accident book with the kit we use the most. Our register is kept in the office along with the telephone. OFSTED didn't have a problem with this when we were inspected.
