narnia
my faith in people was restored with a wallop today...........we were just about to go home this afternoon, when there was aknock at the door, and all the children who had left in the Summer to go to school were standing there, with their parents, and they had come to plant a lovely apple tree in our tiny garden, "as a thankyou for all your wonderful love and care for our children"!! we had our photographs taken for the local press too and were then invited along to a special tea party they had arranged in our honour................................I cried, but for all the right reasons!! They have also made a beautiful huge copper tag, with all th childrens names on it, to go with the tree, form the Class of 2006.......................sorry, off for another blub!! Guest
How fantastic I think your wonderful 'feel good about the early years' story deserves to be 'Letter of the week' in Nursery World, why not send them a copy. ( PM me if you want their email address) Thank you sooo much for sharing, we don't hear enough of the positives of early years, this just wipes the floor with all the scandel mongering media stories about how bad we are all supposed to be doing. You bought a tear to my eye, how great to watch the tree grow, harvest the apples, to see the 'leaves fall away in Autumn, and the fruit blossom in the Spring', just like all our little children. Guest
Oh lovely!! You always want to know that your children are doing well when they leave you but to many we are just a step in their lives forgotten when it is passed. That they came back says so much about you as a setting. You are right to feel very proud of yourselves! liz x
