Hi all, we are a pack away setting in a local village hall, we are very restricted as to what activities we can have out due to storage etc, we can not put up display boards etc and we can only offer 21 hours per week due to the hall having other bookings.

So the good news is we have been offered some land where we can put a prefab preschool (or something like this) and have a fenced area for outside play. The location is great of the land the only problem is money. I have asked our local authority about grant and funding and have been told there is none available.

Has anybody else been in this situation who can offer advice?

Greatly appreciated

jen.

there are other funding streams you can go for or you may be able to raise a loan. Lottery funding may be an option try here http://www.lotterygoodcauses.org.uk/funding-finder also you might ask parents if they have any charitable arms in their workplaces (often banks/telecom companies and airlines have them!) search for grant funding in your area (co-op /trusts/council may be able to access funding from building work in the area (S106 monies) to reduce costs you may be able to hire a building or buy a second hand one...contact portakabin etc to talk to them. Are you buying the land?

Lots of good advice already from Fm re funding, we did it some years ago (but we’re lucky enough to secure county funding), money aside there will be lots to think about; planning permission, access plan/highways, building regulations, ground works (this cost us approx half again to the modular building cost), are utilities easily accessible? Land rental agreement if not owning the land.....good luck, hopefully you can make it happen :-)
