Childminding qualifications and preschool work

Hi I am currently recruiting for a Level 2 practitioner and have had someone apply who has a childminding qualification, it's an

NCFE CACHE level 3 in preparing to work in home based childcare (2016). I have checked on the government checker and can't for the life of me figure out if she can be counted in the ratios in our setting.

Can anybody help?

TIA

I think this is a pre-registration course equivalent to one module toward a full level 3 diploma.   I should ring Pacey and ask them but I wouldn't think this was equivalent to a level 2.   Might still be a good practitioner though.  Best of luck,

Yes it is actually a short course/module.

We have a staff member with it, but she did it when she wanted to get back into childcare after having a few years off. She was already L3 but had qualified originally it the 90s and hadn't worked in childcare for 7 years.

But don't forget as long as you met the required 'qualifications' element of the EYFS you can count unqualified in ratios.

Thanks for all of your replies. I've spent most of the day making calls to find out. But you've all been really helpful. PACEY were lovely so thanks for that advice HoneyPancakes!
