Treasurer leaving

Hi, I am the Chair of the playgroup; our treasurer is stepping down due to personal reasons. Can we elect a new treasurer at a normal committee meeting or would we need to call an EGM? Our AGM isn't until November.

i'm pretty sure you can simply vote in a new one at your next meeting, but I could be wrong

Personally I'd grab the 1st person who agreed to do it - wouldn't wait for a meeting!

You can do it at a regular committee meeting and elect an existing committee member as treasurer if someone will step up or co-opt a new committee member on as treasurer

This happened to us a couple of years ago and we just nominated someone else at a normal meeting who had volunteered for the role,

Thanks for your advice peeps - we have an existing comittee member who has volunteered to step up to treasurer, so i'll put it through at the next meeting.
