Advice needed re: positive statement for report

Does anyone have any suggestions to re-word the following?

*** is friendly and caring toward other children; however he often has difficulty sitting still during group time and, as a consequence, gets himself into a conflict when he does not appear to be aware of those around him.

Your thoughts would be appreciated!

at group time he is supported to keep his hands to himself to avoid conflict as he seems unaware of children's personal space ??? it's tricky to be positive. maybe mention something he is good at at group time - shows interest in songs/story/joins in discussion?

How about; x can be caring and supportive when playing with others. With considerable support x is able to join in the group activities but he/she finds this tricky.

If you make it too positive, it won't say what you need it to say.

Thanks for your thoughts, everyone! Sometimes I find it really difficult to find the right words and worry that I am being too negative; I then ponder for ages around something that should be pretty straight forward - hence report writing takes forever!

*** displays friendly and caring behaviour towards other children during his play, preferring to do so in open spaces where he is able to move freely. This often causes conflict in group times where greater spacial awareness is required.

I'm making some assumptions, but I hope it helps a little. I'd probably change the 'preferring to do so' section to something more factual if possible
