Guest jakip Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 I do not have a problem at all with chocolate spread or jam sandwiches. Its the crisps and prepackaged crap that many of the children have in their boxes I have a problem with. If this was left out the children would eat their fruit eagerly. However being a parent myself I would not take it positively someone else telling me what my children can or cannot have. For many unfortunately its what they can afford that dictates what their child has. Sorry rant over. ;-)
Guest Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 I don't have an issue with Jam personally. My big issue is the sheer amount of treats some kids turn up with. We've had one child who often doesn't even bring a sandwich. Mum sends her with a chocolate chip brioche instead. Another child brings sandwich, crisps, a banana then 3 different treats (usually jammy dodgers, animal biscuits and a cereal bar).
Guest Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 New one for me today - child arrived with an individual sized packet of coco-pops and a note to ask if we could save his snack time milk to put on them for lunch - mum 'running late' this morning! Amazingly he ate all of his -free- school dinner, despite parents conviction that he 'wouldn't touch anything he hadn't seen before' and hence he is the only child in my class to ave a packed lunch since the universal free meals were introduced.
Fredbear Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Oh my words just fail me to be honest. Glad he enjoyed his dinner.
