apple Posted September 11, 2014 Share Posted September 11, 2014 Hello all for years, like many settings, our school has always held a Christmas and Summer fair to raise vital school funds. However, we have expanded the school and can no longer fit x amount of families into the school hall (moving it outdoors is always weather reliant). Has anyone got any bright ideas of ways that we can continue to raise money? We are trying to think of ideas that would be equal to the fairs - e.g. we would rather not have lots of 'events' as parents may feel that we are always asking for contributions - does that make sense? So far we have thought of Rainbow raffles - each class given a colour and families donate items of said colour "special' raffle boxes e.g. a chocolate one, a 'smellies' one (more ideas on this theme would be great) A quiz night... hoping you can help Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest Posted September 12, 2014 Share Posted September 12, 2014 Our PTA does an annual 'Buns for Mums' (Mother's Day) and 'Dunkers for Dads' (Father's Day). Staff, friends and parents each make, say 1 or 2 dozen cup cakes/or big biscuits; the children place their orders (@ 50p per bun/biscuit) and they are distributed on the Friday before the special day. This usually makes several hundred pounds. Another PTA fundraiser is recycling. There is a company which will provide recycling bags - you give out bags to the parents who then fill the bags and send them in to school (just google rag-bag). They pay £400 per tonne.
