Guest Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Hi I had a visit from a specialist school worker to advise us about safe manual handling training, risk assessments, equipment etc for a vulnerable child. On her recommendation we have completed a PEEP for this child but she also said that he should be named in our fire policy. Anyone else do this? Just feels wrong when these policies can be viewed by anyone (especally if they were online, which they arent at the moment). I have included vulnerable children as what we would do in the policy but did not go so far as to name them yet. What do you think?
blondie Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 could you just put his initials on your policy? everyone would know who it meant but wouldn't be obvious to outsiders?
Wildflowers Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 I would add to an evacuation policy e.g. 'In the case of a vulnerable child attending...' What to do for a child with additional needs would be included in their care plan. No names in policies as they should be general. The advisor can't tell you what to put in yours. 2
