Guest
If you have a team member that goes to Uni one day would you pay them for the time they are at university - if there is no supply cover money? Not really been a problem upto now but we have more than one next year.
woodlands1997
Nope we wouldn't pay unless we were requiring them to do the course and this meant they had to miss a days work x
HappyMaz
This is a difficult one - as a setting you'd have to pay them to attend, but also you have to pay for their cover too. Some of our learners are lucky enough to get their salary paid for their college day, and others who work in full day care work longer shifts on the other four days to be able to have the fifth day off. Some of course work for settings who just cannot afford to pay their staff to go to University, and so they have to accept that they will temporarily take a dip in salary whilst they study. I think so long as you talk honestly with your staff, and treat them all the same then most people will be understanding.
louby loo
I wasn't paid. Pre-school, and my choice to do it though. xx
caffinefreak
We pay our staff for their day, they do 1-8pm at university so they have the full day off of work, they work half term weeks but not reading weeks xx
