Madmum
Hi I currently cover PSE and circle time as HLTA in Reception. I am doing Relationships next half term and the class teacher would like me to include similarities and differences between families etc. I don;t want to get in too deep, but wondered if anyone could recommend a book to read a s a starting point to discussion? Rufus
I have used ice age the film before for this purpose, as I had adopted children in my class who were a different race to their parents. It was great to discuss how the characters look different but all form one kind of family that take care of each other.
mundia
Hi there. "Picnic in the Park" is a simple story with lots of different families. Cant recall the author though but a search might reveal one. If you like Todd Parr style of books, (can be a bit of a marmite choice), try "The family book". Also author of "Its OK to be different". Hopefully gives you a start until others come along and add theirs
