amarrian
Any recommendations for non-staining ready mixed paint in 5l containers? We currently buy the Classmate brand from Hope but it stains. Possibly, a non-staining paint does not exist  However, recommendations for brands that stain the least would be very welcome. Many thanks. fimbo
We use consortium too - never had anyone mention staining, but if we do send home a painty child we advise a cool wash ( the clothing, not the child lol !)
hopeytg
A parent told me if you add a squirt of washing up liquid to the paint it doesn't stain - haven't tried it yet but we also have an issue with paint stains despite asking parents to put children in old clothes. catma
I used to use the washing up liquid trick but no idea if it worked really! Paint is designed to put colour on things!! Cx
mundia
washing up liquid here too. Yes I found it did work especially for those dark reds and blacks, which always seemed to be the worst.
narnia
yes, i used to put washing up liquid in the powder paint when i mixed it, but don't bother now while we use ready mix................I wash all the dressing up things (especially the painty ones!) and it comes out with no difficulty, even using very cheap washing liquid
amarrian
despite asking parents to put children in old clothes. Ain't that the truth!! I really don't know what drives some parents to send their child to nursery in their best bib and tucker - parental competition, I suppose. It wouldn't matter if the parent accepted the inevitable, whether that be water, paint, glue, tape, mud et al. But they don't accept it, giving the teacher a hard time and, I'm afraid to say, the child too. Never mind: education is our business.
