music for christmas show

Recommended Posts

the lady who usually plays the piano for our christmas 'show' (singing a few christmassy songs) has moved over half term and can no longer play for us. i wondered about downloading songs and using them as a backing track. but all songs sound different as by different people which may be a bit weird? any ideas anyone? x

We had a similar problem and now "play" the songs we sing via the computer with speakers attached to boost the sound. The piano accompaniment was cheap to download from the site below:

http://www.youraccompanist.com/

Also had to find a fix so that could key up multiple copies of windows media player so that each track was ready to play so have two windows media player windows open simultaneously.

Got the fix from this sitehttp://www.lukepaynesoftware.com/other/

Whilst it is not the same as having a real accompanist with you it does work (a little rehearsal is needed particularly if you are the one being the computerised accompanist) and at the end of the day our parents were very happy with last years "techno production".

this sounds just what i need. we are nursery and children do a performance in reception onwards so i just want to sing 12 songs, but some are same tune and a couple we do unaccompanied as this seems to work well. we dress up as stars/snowmen etc so they look cute, but i don't want to spend ages in hall practising as you do when you do a performance. a lot of practise is in nursery and we just go in hall a week or so before. it's hard to get the balance right! x
