Guest
we're having waterplay days 2 days a week at the moment - paddling pools, water pistols, baby baths, bubbles, boats - all the children (and staff)come to preschool in swimming costumes and bring towels and change of clothes. We are having a ball and keeping cool in the process
blondie
well the weather has changed so much cooler and a drop of rain so you might not have to think of any more ideas which is a shame - only just broken up for the holidays too :0(
Guest
We're still bathed in sunshine so more waterplay days planned for tomorrow and friday
blondie
the few drops of rain have passed and the sun is out in force so it would be waterplay for us if we were still open. what about some drain pipes and guttering - we did that - was fun as children often didn't join together properly with water going everywhere lol
Mouseketeer
We've just been sent some information about 'heat wave safety' from our county.....now it's 10 degrees cooler and we're closed
lashes2508
broke up now but put paddling pool in sand pit and created a beach - children brought in costumes and towels, ice lollys for snack and only spent morning outside and in hall where it was cooler during hottest part of day , also relaxed staff uniform rules -
Guest
Thanks all, yes much cooler today. we also sent out heatwave info lol!! We did water play, paddling pools, ice lollies etc, biggest problem we have (i'm going to sound awful here) we have a purpose built nursery where the windows won't open far due to child safety, they have soft matting on the floor which is black temps the other day on the floor were 50 degrees - must have been designed by a man with no experience in childcare lol! so we have a couple of fans- but it is much nicer today :-)
