Guest
hi! does everyone complete a progress summary for each child each term? we don't yet as our head says learning journeys are enough, but i want to start in september
sunnyday
Yes we do........fairly 'short and sweet' - usually just a statement or two covering each area of learning and some identified 'next steps'........
mundia
I think the summaries are a good way to show progress over time, and are exactly that...summarising what is there day to day in your learning diaries. Its a good way to see where your children are progressing most, where they might have gaps you want to extend, where you might have gaps in your knowledge of them; and then an overview foe the whole setting which is easier for a manager to get from the summaries rather than the learning diaries.
