Guest
We would like to start a home school link book to use at out nursery, but don't want it to become something that we have to fill in everyday as time will not allow. Plus don't want to burden parents with too much to reply to etc . Does anyone already do home school communication books,if so how is yours set out? All advise greatly received :1b
Guest
We do a home school book but not for each and every child. When we have the opportunity to speak to parents everyday at the start and or end of the session there is little point. However we have a child who is dropped at breakfast club and picked up from after school club so anything regarding nursery we tend to put in the book. Likewise breakfast club do the same too. The child concerned did have some behavioural issues when he first came to us and the book helped his Dad, a single parent keep track of his sons behaviour. We have also done the home school book for other behaviour problems and when the children attend more than just our setting. Sorry not been much help, though I am sure someone will come a long shortly with other views on this matter!
klc106
We started ours about 2 months ago and they seem very popular with parents, especially the ones we don't see very often. We fill it in on a child's last session of the week about what they have done, enjoyed and any reminders.
anju
We only do it for specific reasons too (no time otherwise) and we do try to speak to parents at start & end of day. We did it for an EAL child who had difficulty settling - it did help
