Last year we asked children to bring in favourite books throughout the week which we then shared. This was lovely, but I would welcome any other ideas! Hi we're doing a family reading break with a difference, we have set up the cosy area with a special chair and followed Elizabeth Jarmens example in a communication friendly space and opened the day up to parents wanting to share a book/story with their children and others. their welcome anytime throughout the day. dreamgirl Posted February 23, 2012 Share Posted February 23, 2012 We are going to make lots of reading tents and dens for the week and put loads of books out everywhere. Dens inside and out to read stories in. Turning role play into a huge bed to read stories in. Having parents in to read stories. Getting ALL our dressing up out and make up stories with the children, visiting the library, inviting other adults in the school to come in to nursery and read stories. Making a book shop for PSRN. Looking at different types of books. Making a talking book. Gosh.....seems a lot now I've written it all down! Might not manage it all in a week!!!!
