Guest terrydoo73
We have just received a letter to say there is a grant available for £2,500. It cannot be used to supplement salaries or running costs. We opened our Playgroup in January this year and are registered for 12 children in a 2 1/2 hour session Monday to Friday term time only. We are presently using a community hall so our premises are quite limited. During the past summer the local Community Group who are our employers secured funding to purchase an old school in the village Since opening in January we have raised over £300 from parents fundraisers, £1000 from Children in Need grant, £700 from another 2 local grant agencies and have a grant application pending for which there will be an assessment next week. All of these grants have been used mainly for outdoor equipment, storage and additional resources such as small world, jigsaw puzzles, construction and wire bookmarks. As I said we are planning to move by next autumn and obviously would love to apply for this grant of £2,500. Problem is what to spend it on!! Any suggestions??? Guest
Will you have things like display boards, curtains, rugs etc in the new (old!) building? What about cooking facilities?

HappyMaz
I'm with hali. Community Playthings' stuff is lovely and will last a lifetime. I would consider hollow and unit blocks a must for any setting, but given the funds I would also have liked a role play trolley, craft trolley, water tray... the list is endless.
