Court Case

Recommended Posts

Okay try and keep this brief, I have a member of staff whose husband is awaiting a court case, originaly it was in August then postponed until this Monday (1st day back for us!). I have arranged cover for Monday and the person covering has arranged for a friend to have her children etc, member of staff has just called to say once again court case has been postponed and they have been told they could receive a call the night before telling them the case is the following day! She obviously wants to come in now Monday but I feel guilty phoning the relief member of staff as she has re arranged everything to cover!! Do I have them both in and pay them, don't want to upset person covering as I could need her short notice!! Help!

Hi

I think I would have them both in. No harm having extra pair of hands on the first day back. You can always claw back staffing costs later when they are all settled.

I've got a member of staff due to have an operation and will need 12 weeks off. The hospital won't confirm dates and she could even get turned away on the day. How do you plan staff for that?
